About the Collection
Across the Pacific Northwest, the change from summer to fall is subtle. Not a single moment, but a gradual shift in the air and light. Evenings grow shorter, the sun lowers its position, and the atmosphere clears. Light Between Seasons captures this transformation.
Process & Paintings
This year as summer turned to fall, I really noticed how the quality of the light changed. The air felt clearer. Colours looked deeper and more defined. Many of the paintings use colour and contrast to follow that transition. Warm light against cool shadow, saturated tones beside calm neutrals. You’ll see yellow next to violet, red beside green, orange near blue. These intentional contrasts are a tribute to the subtle beauty of nature shifting through seasons.
